I work with individuals, families, and groups who want to begin the healing process through therapeutic treatment and counseling without judgment. I use evidence-based practices and compassion to achieve positive changes. My specialty and passion are helping patients who have been impacted by
trauma.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a type of cognitive behavioral therapy. The goal is to teach you how to cope with stress, manage your emotions, and live in the moment, which improves your relationships with others. DBT is an effective therapy for someone who struggles with emotional control or displays self-destructive behavior.
What To Expect with DBT Therapy:
Support: Identify and improve your positive strengths so you can apply them.
Behavioral: Evaluate negative behavior patterns and replace them with healthy ones.
Cognitive: Change your thoughts and actions to develop effective ones.
Acceptance and change: Strategies to be able to accept your life with positive changes in your interactions with others.
Collaboration: Communicate effectively and work together as a team with your therapist.
EMDREMDR is one of the most researched modalities for the treatment of trauma. It is an information processing therapy that helps clients deal with trauma, addictions, and phobias. During treatment, you focus on a specific thought, image, or emotion while watching an object move in front of your eyes. You practice recognizing what comes to mind when thinking of that image and then letting it go while doing bilateral stimulation. The effect is like imagining yourself in a moving vehicle where you know an object is going to appear and then you watch it pass by.
EMDR evidence shows improvement for:
• Addictions
• Anxiety
• Chronic pain
• Depression
• Eating disorders
• Panic disorder and attacks
• Phobias
• Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
• Self-esteem issues
EMDR can be used on its own or in conjunction with other psychotherapy techniques (such as cognitive Behavioral Therapy).
