Depression & Anxiety

What Is Depression?

Depression is a treatable disorder that influences the way we feel, think, work, sleep, eat, and engage with others. Symptoms may vary in severity from person to person and are present most of the day, nearly every day, for at least 2 weeks for a depression diagnosis. Treatment is provided based on the number and severity of depression symptoms, which can be a serious condition.

What Is Anxiety?

It is normal for people to experience anxiety occasionally as a response to something that is expected to happen. Some people, though, can experience anxiety in a more challenging way, causing their worry to become unrealistic, uncontrollable, and to the point where it is interfering with normal activities or daily living. This can signal the early signs of an anxiety disorder.

There are accompanying physical symptoms as well, ranging from mild to severe and can include, but are not limited to, panic attacks, chest pains, headaches, isolation, poor sleep, and irritability.
